A couple of years back, Keith Olbermann used an episode from Twilight zone to illustrate a point on how facts can be spinned to support any ideaology. It was poignant and brilliant. Below is an excerpt from his transcript and I cannot help but draw the starking similarites with this theory and how it relates to the current democratic campaign that seems to have democrats pitted against fellow democrats.

 Rev Jeremiah Wright

Its all political correctness crap if you ask me. All this brouhaha over 30 seconds soundbites from a pastors sermon is just falling prey to the media’s circus. Since when does speaking out against American foreign policies considered unpatriotic ? but then again, Noam Chomsky, one of the leading American intellectuals and a powerful critic of America’s duplicituos foreign policies has been labeled unpatriotic and even received death threats that warranted police protection. Probably, its the 8 years of poor political leadership by Bush and his cronies that has flamed this seething urge to see people get their shit straight in the white house. Much have changed through eight years: The purchase of a trillion dollar war whose monthly payment is in billions, The surplus economy that has dwindled down to a deficit, The dollar being rudely scoffed at by the Euro, The 40 million people walking around with no health care coverage incase they fall sick from…say the beef recalled last month, The mortgage crisis looming ahead holding the sceptre of recession, the price of gas ratcheting up at the pump… In short, we are in deep shit, for lack of a better term.
